Letter: James Taylor best choice for city council
With elections for the city of Port St. Lucie fast approaching, I write in support of James A. Taylor, and go on record as endorsing Taylor for the office of city councilman in Port St. Lucie, District 3.
The councilman’s duties require responsibility for taxation, appropriations, ordinances, and other general functions. Taylor understands the importance of keeping good records and of dealing congenially with the public. He is honest, reliable, and willing to work the long hours needed for the position.
Born and raised in St. Lucie County, he brings excellent credentials to this position, with a B.A. degree from Florida Atlantic University in business management and marketing, and has worked on the Treasure Coast for the past several years.
As an active member of the community, Taylor has strong ideals for the councilman’s position regarding economic development and job growth, environmental preservation and improved relationships with governmental agencies at the local, state and federal levels.
Port St. Lucie, being the ninth largest city in the state, one in which the population is projected to double in the next few years, will benefit from his educational background and values as a young political outsider with fresh new strategies for the city. I believe James A. Taylor is the person best qualified to be our next city councilman in Port St. Lucie to effectively handle the inevitable growth that is about to occur our area, while maintaining the quality of life that we all enjoy here.
